Thanks Toni.
However, I had overlooked something.
To be fair to Rael, and as he has gently pointed out – what was referred to was in a Youtube video clip, not actually a part of the JRA archive or on the JRA forum.
Like Toni, I still think it a pity that this series of humorous, interesting and informative Youtube videos has slipped down a little in that one respect. However, I suppose that is a matter for Rael, and we can all decide whether or not to click on a link to his channel.
Also, I was perhaps being a bit churlish in raising the objection, since many years in the operational side of the fishing industry has left me personally quite comfortably able to use and even enjoy the use of profanity – in the right company.
It's a slippery slope though. Toni is quite right – and I think Rael has expressed agreement too – that the JRA forum, on the other hand, is a place where a more intelligent and pleasant vocabulary is the norm, so let’s just keep it that way, and no harm in a little reminder. It wasn’t meant to be any more than that.
This thread now has its humorous side: for the latest "Rigging Video, explaining how Mike Mulcahy makes Cambered panel Junk sails" Rael has now given us a "content may offend" warning. Can't get more PC than that!
Anyway, Rael, I’m glad we can have a friendly discussion about this. Best wishes regarding the project. Some of us are quite interested in the prospect of a junk rig applied to a potentially high-performing hull. When you get the latest proa in the water, I would be very keen to see it featured on the home page as “Boat of the Month”. I hope you will do us a write-up for that. (Regrettably, however, without a link to the recent video clip!)
