Im sorry to bore everyone with yet another "I want to convert a boat to junk" thread.  I am looking for a boat suitable for conversion to become a sort of bigger Jester/ Ming Ming/ North Atlantic/ Bounty 29.  The NA 29 would be my dream boat if available.  One was for sale on the other side of the US to me so impractical.

I'm scanning all the classifieds for a boat with the following traits.

    • Prefer encapsulated keel
    • Prefer protected rudder
    • Headroom present or available with a bump up.
    • Solid glass GRP hull
    • Largest boat that can take a single rig so maybe 32 feet max?
The only "project" part I want is the rig conversion........I want to start with a comfortable cruiser with nice accom and an aesthetically nice interior for cooler NE USA weather.

I would appreciate any input.  I've looked at US boats for 20 years thinking of this and there seem so many less strong designs here than Europe where I also lived.
