    Hello everyone!

Just seen the itinerary for the week. It looks like it’s going to be fantastic! I’d hoped to be there with Peggy, alas it’s not going to be this year. Cutting a hole for the mast on Peggy is something that terrifies me still. Having said that, the mast will be on by 1 April (not a joke)! I’ve scheduled loads of sailing lessons to get me started and feeling more confident… not entirely sure how the knowledge will transfer to a junk rig but I’m sure the general boat handling skills will. Finally, I can’t get out of work that week grrrr. Hence barring a miracle (if anyone has any spare luck feel free to send it my way) I won’t be able to make it this year. Please take lots of pictures so those of us being boring can live vicariously through you!

    All the best,

    Zachary

    Bonjour

The pre-registration date limit is March the 15th !

    It's time to pre-register.

We are already seven junks, French, British, Irish..., pre-registered and we could be more.

If you come with a dinghy please contact me to be in the right flotilla (N°5) !

The dinghies on trailors or crew could cross the channel by Britanny Ferries from Cork or Plymouth to Roscoff and then cross Brittany southwords by highways or through the hart of Brittany or by train.

Good to see that the Bretons still know how to run these events to make people feel welcome.

The rest of the world take note!

The concept of the Semaine du Golfe is that everything is free. If you arrive with a boat on a trailer the launching and recovery with the crane will be free (I'll use the Crouesty services for Mingming).

The moorings, harbours services, breakfast and often the "apéritif" (oisters and white wine most of the time) are free.

The only time you may pay is for the lunch.

Eric, stupid questions that may well contain the answers:

    • Obviously, looking at the charts, we will have to overnight at anchor or buoys every night ? (1,80m water draft)
    • Then use our tenders to and from pub/restaurant?

I'm sure others than me will be interested!

There are no stupid questions only non asked ones. Thankyou for asking !

In all harbours, I think, but Aradon the boats are on moorings provided by the harbour.

At Aradon some flotilas are on catways and others on moorings.

The harbours are also providing a harbour service with local motor boats. You must wear a life jacket into the harbour service boats.

In Ile d'Arz on the thuesday there are so manny boats that some have to moor and others just beech for the time of the low tide.

I've pre-registered my Coromandel but not sure I'll have her up together by then; half way through stripping hull, epoxy will have to wait for temperature to be OK then have to put rig together - it's just a bunch of bits at the moment! Will try my best...

Merci Eric for these details. Now we have a better idea of what will happen and where we'll sail.
Jan, you can add Paradox to your list. Unfortunately China Blue will not be there, since from what I know, her new owner has rather little sailing experience and sailing to Morbihan probably not in his plans.

I look forward to meet you all again!
