Thanks for that. When I've time over the next week I'll  work through the mods and then provide the document as a direct item in the main menu. I'll also sometime rethink the messages that we currently display on the home page and on the members' area page.

Re Lynda's query, as Annie says, if members can look up each others' details on the site and request printed copies, then I don't see this is a problem, so long as non members can't get them. If members pass printed copies to non members then I would assume the former could be construed as the bad guys rather than the JRA. If members quote email addresses in posts, ditto. We provide advice on the site and in the policy document that this shouldn't happen, and we do try to prevent and trap it. We are setting standards and expecting/hoping members to/will 'conform'. Best we can do I think. Best thing Lynda can do is carry on as is.

    Malcolm, any thoughts on this?

your position seems entirely reasonable Brian.

BTW I think it's good form to use BCC when mailing large lists of people, as this prevents everyone's email from being on show...

Thanks Malcolm. Bcc-ing is fine unless recipients need to know who else has been emailed. Good practice would I guess be to put a cc line at the beginning of the content of emails just as we all used to do in 'proper' letters. That doesn't often happen, so cc-ing is probably the way to go (in general).

The Privacy Policy will be uploaded to the site shortly, with Mr Chairman's blessing as per his post of 29th November. Just a few minor edits to make. Apologies for the delay. Will let you all know when it's done.

The policy is now on the site - click Privacy Policy in the menu on the left.

Any comments should be made in this thread, please.
