Annie and all interested, firstly going direct was not sensible to get stuff direct, you need to be a distributor min order 30,000 USD

second, this shipment was priced on air fright again with chemicals, not a good move.

Now I am looking at sea freight for you guys but this is the but you will be classed as the importer. if there is a problem with NZ EPA customs then this will be your responsibility. We can move this as soon as I get the quote back from our sea fight shippers.

I say again in your own interests contact the details I have sent just to make sure things run smoothly

I shelved the idea of getting MAS from USA, when they were going to charge US$850 to send the 40 litres - and that was before I had paid for the epoxy!  It can be hard work, doing business with USA.

well if you don't get any joy come back and I will pick up the phone, however, it comes to the same problem you as the importer will have to contact the people I gave you as a contact. The NZ EPA is the sticking wicket on this. we need that number before it will be let through customs

Thanks for that Pete, We had better just hold off for a bit as Annie and Paul Thompson are corresponding with MAS in the states to see if they can send it direct. MAS took quite a while to respond so I thought it was a dead lead. I fear may have knocked on to many doors. Thank you very much for your offer of help, I shall keep you posted on developments.

If more volume is required I would be willing to consider dding to the order, if that would help. I am not epoxy sensitised (yet) but the product does seem to have other properties which also appeal.

Maybe others might come in here, if a bulk order is required?

Hi Pete, as I am seriously epoxy sensitised, but have to do all my own rebuilding to get Sweet Thursday returned to her natural element I am desperate to find a gluing and laminating resin that I can cope with using. The little Flicka is a Big twenty footer with an eight foot beam, and I need to build a completely new cabin and cockpit, new rudder and a heavy glass sheathing along the bottom of the keel, plus finish the dinghy. I spent a decade working as a boat builder in NZ so I know how to do the work, if I could only get an epoxy my body can handle using.

So I am really keen to try the MAS product to see how I react. Obviously I will take all precautions with full face respirator and suit etc.

As for volume of resin required I guess I may as well get a twenty litre pack, especially if it has a long shelf life,  but a small trial pack to test my bodies response would be great. Is it possible to have some sent from England?

Is this available in New Zealand?

I'm endeavouring to find out, because it could be something that Marcus can use.  I've written to MAS in USA and the Oracle reckons it's for sale in Auckland, but I can't find it anywhere on the Internet and the guy who supplies my WEST knows nothing of it.
