OK, I've searched around - as far as the pretty rubbish WA 5.0 allows - and googled, but I'm still not sure I understand why my Sunbird Rig (late 80's early 90's ?) has no  fixed parrels except on the boom. I assume to stop the batten hinges reversing on a downwind run. Any old hands who can enlighten me?
