Eric Andlauer sailed on Yvonne, my Kingfisher 26, during the recent mini junket in Dublin and suggested (and implemented) a sheeting change.
I had a fairly standard arrangement in which the boom and lower two battens were connected to the sheet by a set of three sheetlet attachments, and the next three battens above were also connected in a set of three. This worked fine on this and my previous boat. However, there was a tendency for the boom and lowest batten to be pulled together, forcing a little curl into the sail shape at the leech.
Eric suggested a new arrangement in which the sheet starts with a single attachment at the boom. Then the three battens immediately above are connected in a set of three, and the two battens above in a set of two. This has greatly reduced the tendency for the lower corner of the leech to curly. First two pictures are the old arrangement, then the third is the new.
