    David,

No, you have not been away from England too long. It was just that several years ago I went into the local branch of my bank, and I must have been in cheerful mood, and where i was well known, and going up to the foreign currency counter I said to the young girl behind it " Do I have to take my passport and what currency do I need for the Isle of Wight?" The reply came back "I'LL just go and find out for you, sir". A few moments later the same rather crestfallen young lady re-appeared. Oh dear! Just my silly sense of humour.

Its rather rough in the Solent today so I hope B...........Bank does not take its revenge in June!

PS Do not forget to bring passport and foreign currency!

Clearly I've been away from the UK for too long - has the Isle of Wight left the UK, then, Rodney??

Good luck for the race. I hear that avoiding all the floating beer cans is the trickiest part:-)

Good for you, Rodney, and the best of luck.  I expect that if nothing else, there will be Slieve's and Edward's boats with their split-junk rig.

With no experience of sailing a junk rig, or racing for that matter(what are the rules?), I have entered Gung Ho , a Sunbird 32 schooner with flat sails.

I am told its a fantastic day out. And you get a tankard.

    Any other Junk Entries?

The entry rules, regs do not seem too onerous, just common sense things like lifejackets, life rafts etc.

I hope I'm not the only one. See you all on June 26\7

PS Do not forget to bring passport and foreign currency!
