According to Metcheck.com,  on their "UK Weather Singularities” page,  the period during which we are holding our AGM junket has an 88% chance of being fine, sunny weather!    This statistic is apparently based on historical evidence.   SO:

Why not sail your boat down to Falmouth for the Summer Bank Holiday weekend and join other members for a chance to explore some of the lovely Cornish waterways and coastline?   You could even extend your stay and make a real holiday of it.

The AGM itself will be held on the afternoon of Saturday 28th May and will be followed by dinner in a local restaurant.    Berths and moorings will hopefully be available nearby.

Sunday 29th May will be an opportunity to sail around the Carrick Roads or up the Helford River.     Where we go will depend on wind direction.

There is a rumour that Monday 30th May is the start of Falmouth festival week and that there will be some interesting sailing activities taking place.   Wouldn’t it be fun to be part of a flotilla of junk rigged boats sailing around Falmouth harbour?     Or we could tie up at the Harbourmaster’s pontoons and go ashore to view the entertainments in the town.

If you are interested in joining in,  please register your interest on the AGM junket forum.   You will find there is a list of names of those who have already indicated they would like to sail down.    In case you cannot find it,  the following link will get you there:   http://www.junkrigassociation.org/page-1858525/3874614#3879615

If you are unable to bring a boat,  but would still like to join in,   it may be possible to hitch a ride with a boat departing from your area,  or you could consider coming overland and arranging to stay aboard a boat with a spare berth.
