The Brixham Heritage Regatta 2024 will take place on 25th/26th May 2024.

See http://www.brixhamheritageregatta.uk/index.htm for entry forms, contact details and list of vessels that have already entered.

Note: Your browser may warn you that this may not be secure but please allow the download.

If you are still having difficulties please email digital@brixhamheritageregatta.uk and request a copy of the entry form.

Please note that there are ferries suitable for car and boat trailers sailing from Cork, Roscoff and Santander to Plymouth which is a two hour drive to Brixham.

There will be a 70cl bottle of Honey Spiced Rum from the Devon Rum Company for the furthest distance sailed to the Regatta by a Junk Rig boat.

    Kind regards,

    Ted & Fiona Stone

Well blistering barnacles, I'm going to have to plot a route from Baltimore to Soubise to Brixham to make sure that that rum-rustlin' Leblanc fellow doesn't get the bottle o' rum.

Seriously though, minor correction; pretty sure there are no ferries from Cork or Rosslare to Plymouth, open to being told otherwise though.

Yes you are right Jan.  Unless you went via Roscoff, but that would be a bit pricey.

Your best bet might be to take the Stena ferry from Rosslare to Fishguard.  AA Route Planner shows the route from Fishguard to Brixham using the M4 and M5 motorways to be 240 miles long and take 4.5 hours.

Have no fear, Jan, unfortunately I won't be taking part in the competion. Because of time and budget, I have to make a choice, and I have elected the Dublin 3 Bridges event in September.

I truly apologize to all of you who thought I would raffle the bottle of rhum, or at least hassle the winner to crack it open before I leave. It would have been nice to see all of you again (Jan, Ted, Fiona, Sally, Jonathan, ... and all who I don't yet know). I will miss seeing you.

But maybe you could all make it to Dublin on 6/7/8/9 September?
    I'll pay for the rhum!

I am strongly considering Dublin but definitely not going to attempt to get to Brixham, the date clashes with our local Wooden Boat Festival which we will be attending in our 140 year old Gunter rigged 16.5' open boat. A May cruise to Brixham is quite enticing so it may happen another year (not next year, it's the Gulf de Morbihan again, which we are also hoping to go to with same Gunter rigged boat).
