Have you tried contacting Ampair?  I know that they have sponsored several voyages and loaned out generators to various people.... perhaps they have some used/refurbished ones for sale.

Thanks for the warning Jonathan. I will double up the guard, put up more razor wire, and starve the dogs even more to protect mine. I will of course let you now if I hear of another for sale. Hope your search proves fruitful.

Peter S,  Thanks.  I have indeed contacted Ampair.  They would have been delighted to have sold me a new one but it is not currently within my budget and they had no knowledge of anything second hand.  However, I think that I may write to them.  I missed out on one on Ebay recently but that was my fault for not being bold enough.  However, it is not needed this year,so I have time to keep looking.

Peter M, As it happens I do still have a key for Preston Marina ... so ...

    Hi Jonathan

Having just helped my daughter empty her new old K20+ that just arrived in the French Alps, guess what's onboard? Yep, an Aquair 12v towed generator. Never been used by the look of it. I've tried to persuade her that she's unlikely to ever need it on the French lake where she'll be sailing, but no budging her hubby so far. I'll keep working on it and will bring it back with me if I win. My own just died but has now been repaired. Any idea how much you'd be prepared to offer?

Brian.  Thank you for that.  Ooda thowt it!  It might however be more comfortable for all concerned if I contacted you privately, which I will do.  Jonathan
