Hi i am going to be relaunching sea wok a Kingfisher hasler JR again in april on the Cleddau (Lawrenny nr Milford Haven) and would be very grateful for some tuition/criticism help with my first outing.
I have not sailed junk before and would just like a few tips, critical inspection etc. Seawok has an inboard Bukh 10, serviced, rewired and a new fuel system a new sail, compass depth sounder and radio plus safety equipment.
Is there someone local who would be prepared to help for expenses and lunch and much appreciation.

Unfortunately I'm miles away on the Isle of Wight. However if you go to Directories, click on All JRA Members and enter 'Wales' in the search box, you'll find we currently have 12 members in Wales. If you don't get any immediate replies to your posting you might want to email them direct via the links in that list. Good luck.

    Hi,

This reminds me of 2 senior fishermen watching me manouvering Edmon Dantes to the quiside and tie her up, wind and tidal stream quite influential. They concluded I had done that before. A bit later in the chat, one of them mentioned that he had gotten a small sailboat, and did not know how to manouver it under sail, never having sailed before. I told him there was only 2 things to be aware of: 1 You cannot go straight into the wind. 2 Make sure your friend dont watch you, because he will be laughing at you. Otherwise just do it. Mind you, he had 2 sails to fight with. Junkies have only one. Makes it very much easier. They booth enjoy sailing today.

    Good luck

Hi William, when in April you thinking of launching? I'm in Cardiff and would be happy, if at all possible, to visit and help, cheers, Paschall (Kingfisher 26 JR convert)
