I hope to be away on the AZAB from 4 June 2011 for about a month or longer.  Lexia is normally berthed in Millbay Marina Village in Plymouth.  I have checked that I am able to let others use the berth whilst I am away.  I would be quite happy for the berth to be used by any paid up member of the JRA.  The maximum boat length would be 32 feet and it is suitable for a monohull only.  A contribution towards the cost of the berth would be gratefully received (say £10 per day or say £60 per week or say £200 for a month.) but that would be considerably less than paying the visitors rate in Queen Anne's Battery or Mayflower for example (£33 per day plus).  Plymouth is a wonderful cruising area and Millbay Marina Village is the prime berth.  It is secure (we would need to make arrangements for you to have a key) and is pontoon walk on at all states of the tide and there is plenty of free parking.  It is 100 metres from the entrance to the sailing in Plymouth Sound at all states of the tide and has sheltered sailing suitable for all weathers.  Inside the marina it is very sheltered and Lexia's berth is a sun trap.  The berth has water and electricity could be available by arrangement at cost.  It is a very quiet marina and is non commercial and is only manned during the working day.  However, it is only five minutes walk from shops and 15 minutes from the famous Plymouth Hoe or from the city centre.  If anyone is interested please contact Jane by the telephone or e mail in the members' directory and she will give you the contact telephone numbers of the two marina staff who will arrange for you to borrow a key.
