I have a tapered aluminium mast 10m overall length. The base is 135mm and the top 61mm.
Wall thickness 3.175mm (1/8 inch). The lower 3m are sleeved by what is probably the same gauge aluminium. The sleeve is riveted in. There is a top and bottom cap of aluminium riveted on. The top has three eyes. One is a crane fitting for the halyard block to stand clear and two eyes riveted on. There is a vhf ariel bracket. If you needed to cut the mast to get rid of all the existing holes it would need 100mm off the bottom and 170mm off the top.
The taper starts about 3.5 m from the bottom and appears not to be welded (cut and shut) but manufactured. The mast is anodised. The mast was made by Proctor Masts date unknown and came off a 30ft dory type junk rig boat. I have been unable to find out the likely aluminium specification. Located near Chichester.
