When I bought my new boat, Weaverbird (Hunter Duette 23), back in April, a new, unused, inflatable dinghy and outboard were included. They were far too big for a 23ft boat to carry as a tender, so I assume that the previous owner realised that he'd made an error in buying them, and put them into storage.

The outboard is a Suzuki DF2.5HP short shaft four stroke. It is stamped "2010" on the serial number plate, but was not even filled with fuel and oil and started, until April 2016. As Weaverbird came with an old two stroke for auxiliary power, I decided to try the Suzuki to see if it would cope (no way was I going to put up with a two stroke, not being a petrol-head). OK, it would get me along in a flat calm, but sailing out of Ravenglass, I need enough speed to make against strong tides as well. Reluctantly, I decided to buy a Tohatsu 6HP Sailpro, which is what the boat really needs.

So I have the Suzuki to dispose of. It's done a maximum of 10 hours running. I've flushed it with fresh water, drained the fuel tank and carburettor, changed the oil in the sump and put some oil in the cylinder, so it should be OK for the winter, but the sooner I sell it, the better. Currently for sale in the discount chandleries for about £600, I'm asking £300 or offer. Buyer to collect from Ravenglass, Cumbria, please.
