I hope I'm not speaking out of turn here - do let me know if I am.
I notice Mary Elizabeth is listed with Sunbird Marine at GBP 13,500.

Why am I surfing the 'net for junk-rigged boats when I have a perfectly good boat here in Oz that will do nicely, once converted to JR?
Buggered if I know. It's probably the fact that I'm a little daunted at the prospect of doing the conversion. Though I'm a white-collar boy I'm not bad on the tools. It's just that dovetailing paid work, saving, and boat work is a little tricky.
Do I buy and modify? Or do I buy 'ready made'? (If there is such a thing.)
About once a month I go through this angsty dilemma. I don't want to be one of those guys whose boat is on the hard for years while they tinker and fiddle to get everything just so.
My other decision point is; do I want to prepare a boat in Oz for a two-year sabbatical in SE Asia? Or do I want to save a little more, buy 'ready-made' (or close to) in the EU and have my sabbatical there?
EU holds more appeal than SE Asia for me, but SE Asia sure is cheap in many places.
Much to ruminate upon on this chilly sunny Sunday afternoon...
