Mac Wester 27 ft 1975, junk rigged (Bunny Smith sail - the Fenix), twin keeled, just completely renewed and freed from osmosis, repainted, completely stripped off interior and redone, Volvo 28cv, English flag, Candelaria Harbour (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain). All the work documented and photo taken, perfect for liveaboard (previous owner actually lived in it when I bought it).

I sell it because for unexpected turnaround I no longer live in Canary Islands and it would cost me too much money and effort to bring it where I live now (Qatar).

    Contact me for further details.

    Hi Lorenzo,
She's lovely, my condolences that your current circumstances preclude your sailing her.
Purely out of curiosity, how much are you asking?
    Cheers,
    Matt

Hi Matt, Lorenzo. Our advice is that you negotiate off forum. I've emailed you seperately about that.

Yordan, it is usually quicker to contact the seller direct. Please click his name in his post then look through his profile for his email address. Thanks. Webmaster.

When I was looking to buy a boat, I invariably ignored adverts that didn't quote the price.  If you really want to sell something, it's a bit silly to be coy about how much you are asking for it.  I would suggest that a rule of posting in the 'sell' part of this forum is that you state how much you want for it, or near offer.

Good point, Annie, and something that Paul may like to follow up when he takes over as Webmaster next week :-)

I'm in agreement with Annie and will look into ways that her suggestion can be implemented.

I hope I'm not speaking out of turn here - do let me know if I am.

I notice Mary Elizabeth is listed with Sunbird Marine at GBP 13,500.

Why am I surfing the 'net for junk-rigged boats when I have a perfectly good boat here in Oz that will do nicely, once converted to JR?

Buggered if I know. It's probably the fact that I'm a little daunted at the prospect of doing the conversion. Though I'm a white-collar boy I'm not bad on the tools. It's just that dovetailing paid work, saving, and boat work is a little tricky.

Do I buy and modify? Or do I buy 'ready made'? (If there is such a thing.)

About once a month I go through this angsty dilemma. I don't want to be one of those guys whose boat is on the hard for years while they tinker and fiddle to get everything just so.

My other decision point is; do I want to prepare a boat in Oz for a two-year sabbatical in SE Asia? Or do I want to save a little more, buy 'ready-made' (or close to) in the EU and have my sabbatical there?

EU holds more appeal than SE Asia for me, but SE Asia sure is cheap in many places.

Much to ruminate upon on this chilly sunny Sunday afternoon...
