Roger Scott tells me that North Shore Canvas (in Auckland) is selling some Canvacon at a good price. According to the blurb, this material is for outdoor use. It might be a bit heavy for smaller boats, but could be worth investigating. Some of its properties (straight from the website) are:
- Heavy duty fabric with UV stabilised coating and base fabric for superior strength and long service life.
- 3 year UV warranty and 3 year delamination warranty.
- High coating adhesion for excellent weld strength and ease of welding.
- Superior strength versus weight.
- Excellent tear resistance.
- Dirt repellent Low Density Polyethylene coating.
- Available in 11 different colours.
- Selected colours available in 2.05m & 2.50m wide, 50m rolls and jumbo rolls.
- Black & royal blue colours suitable for food contact.
- Manufactured in Australia.
North Shore Canvas are selling it (via Roger) for $12 a metre for a 50 m x 2.05 m wide roll. They also have 100 m x 2.5m. They will sell offcuts of that stuff for $18 a m.
Not sure if I should have put this on the technical forum.
