    Hi,

Just seen you have Ming Ming 11 for sale.

    How much?

    Yes I'm a serious cruiser,

    Highlights

Left UK 1968 with Dr David Lewis, my dad on 39ft timber gaff ketch Isbjorn, see Voyaging Stars or We the Navigators.

1st single handed was Capetown to Sydney 174/5 in my father's  Icebird, See book Icebird. 86 days nonestop, still my longest singlehanded trip.

Skippered 47 ft yawlRiquita in 1986 to Cape Hallet in Ross Sea Antarctica (As far as I know, furthest S by a yacht under 65ft)

after retiring we bought in 2014 a 13.5m old racing yacht, the alloy Risky Business in which we (Ros  my wife and I) have logged over 60,000 Nmiles, including over 14,000 single handed, including 5 Tasman sea crossings, and Morroco to Jamaica nonstop.

See Risky Business add in Yachthub

However, Ros is no longer cruising.

My intentions would be to bring her back to Australia via S end of S America, then a couple of projects in the S ocean, perhaps followed by return to UK for a Jester challenge .

By the way, Graham Cox can vouch for me

    Regards,

    Barry Lewis

I can certainly vouch for Barry and the voyages he has undertaken.  He is one of my dearest friends, and perhaps the most competent small-boat skipper and navigator I know.  He would be the perfect custodian for Mingming II, if she is still available, and what is more, Roger Taylor would be thrilled if Barry took over the vessel, as he holds Barry's late father, David Lewis, in the highest regard.  I've sailed with Barry a couple of times, which was a great honour.  When he and I shared the deck, I felt invincible.  I thought about Barry immediately I saw Mingming II advertised, but did not say anything about it as I thought it was already sold.  It would be brilliant if Barry could have her.

Graham, thanks, I have been in touch with Barry, certainly the ideal candidate and he needs no introduction.
