Information about a Sunbird 32 in Portugal / Looking for a 32-35ft JR in Europe

    Dear all,

Beside considering converting a Bermudian boat to JR, I am also actively looking for a JR boat in the 32-35ft range, preferably GRP and with moderate draft.

My brother being the owner of Gung-Ho, Sunbird 32 #1, it is a design that I know quite well and it would be quite a thrill if I could get one as well.

A friend passing recently in Faro, Algarve told me he saw one at Bruce's Yard. Would anyone have information about her ? It certainly is not for sale yet, but if the owner was considering offering her up for sale at some point, I would certainly be interested.

Many thanks for reading me and for any help in my research for my next boat!

    Cheers

    Ulysse

    Hi Ulysse,
Could it be the Sunbird 32 "Matanie", previously owned by Brian and Maddy Kerslake and sold in Faro in 2007?
Check https://www.inautia.com/used-boat-29037100151710097545497494848455.html, which was an old advert with unfortunately one picture only.

    Hi Patrick,

Thanks for the link! I got a bot more information, it's indeed Matanie. I have contacted Brian and Maddie to see if they have any information regarding their former boat.

    Let's see :)

Congratulations on Paradox, hope you'll have a great time with her!

Funny enough, I had dreamed of that boat in 2017, but wasn't ready for a buy. Then when I was, I went for China Blue as I could not find anymore info on Matanie.
But it seems I was deemed to deal with Mr and Mrs Kerslake, since I have now bought Paradox from them, previous owners of Matanie :) !
