Sold: China Blue, 36 feet junk rigged schooner (France)

    Title says almost all... see https://leblanc.pl/china_blue_en/ for plenty info, and also videos on the JRA video section, for exemple on the last JRA meeting in Roscoff https://youtu.be/xxjIqt46Je8 or https://youtu.be/-iI5FROLRr4

    Boat has had improvements added since I bought her (new VHF with DSN and GPS, new plotter with AIS transceiver,  new cutlass bearing and shaft seals, new halyards and rigging, new wind indicator, new batteries...). More cosmetic improvements are being made inside at the moment (cushions, paint...)

    A strong and reliable boat with a look and a soul of its own, sold to acquire a larger and more expensive unit!

    Asking 16000€. Visible in  France, contact me for any details.

    Is she registered in France with EU VAT paid?

    Yes, she is duefuly regisrered in France. As for VAT, honestly, I don’t know. I have applied for every necessary documents, to be 100% legal, but now one year later I haven’t heard of anything nor had to pay anything. Assumed the boat was considered too old or too cheap or they had forgotten her? I will inquire if needed, taking the risk of them remembering me!

    How many cabins are there?  Would you be able to share a layout / floorpan image?

    Hi Robert.

    If you go to Patrick's website then to Videos and then to the Clydebank videos you can accompany him on his 1st visit to China Blue both outside and inside.

    Activate the subtitles to get the English translation of his French commentary.

    Hi Robert (and thank you Hans Erik!),

    I do not have a floor plan for the general layout of the boat. I was intending to make one, and have a very awful hand-made sketch that I intend to use for a cleaner version, but I am by no means a qualified technical artist!
    I will post it here as soon as I find it, through my pile of papers.
    Meanwhile, as Hans-Erik mentions, you can see several pictures on my China Blue website https://leblanc.pl/china_blue/ but bear in mind that photos were taken with a wide angle camera and give a very false impression of space! (the saloon looks like an airport lounge!)

    From the video it looks like there is one functional cabin and maybe a possible cabin under the companionway?
    Is there a second cabin in there now or just the one?

    Robert,

    here is effectively space in the cabin behind the companion way, but it's access is really not practical and it is hence used for storage.
    On starboard is the fuel tank, and there used to be a one person bunk more aft of it... I wonder who would like to sleep in such a tight place, with his feet or head against the fuel tank!
    On portside there is a kerosen tank (full) that is for supply to the kerosen cooker, and getting rid of the both was on my bucket list since I find that appliance too tedious to operate (I use a Camping Gaz 2 burners cooker instead). This would allow a better use for this space (a bunk, or a toilet head...) 
    Accessing the aft cabin actually requires lifting the companion way ladder, not really practical. In future modifications, I would have made an access on the right side of it (looking aft) but of course that implies modifying the galley area (cupboards, drawers, etc).
    Meanwhile, I am confident that the access behind the companion way ladder can be easily cut bigger, without affecting the structural strength of the bulkhead. That would make it easier to access the aft cabin.

    hi Patrick,

    thanks for clarifying.

    Me and my partner have a four year old, so are looking for something with two cabins.  He could probably fit now under the companionway, but not something that would work in a few years I guess!
