Finally have to admit that older age, 82 this year, and eyes, ears, knees etc. not so good,

leading me to put the beautiful Amiina up for sale.

Going out on a high, after first in class at Brixham Heritage Regatta in 2021, and actually performing even better there this year.

Outright winner of Sam Gill Trophy 2022 race ( Poole to Yarmouth ), against 6 other Van der Stadt Splinters, and 6 other bigger and newer boats, all bermudan rigged and most with spinnakers.   Amiina was the only single-handed boat in the race, and the only one with an 81 skipper.

Equipped with Needlespar Alloy mast, and Slieve McGalliard’s superb split-junk rig, sails

like a dinghy, gybes like a dove, and all operations from a safe cockpit. Must be the fastest 21 ft  junk on UK’s South coast, and the best to windward

Complete with camping gas cooker, porta-potti heads, 3 berths, choice of outboards, etc. Ready to sail. In the water at Parkstone Yacht Club, Poole Harbour.

Full details and photos for anyone interested.

    Hello,

What a good looking boat.  I'd be pleased to have an idea of price and any other photos you have handy. You might be amused that my IF came from a 92 year of and our Moody 333 from a 91 year old so you may be selling several years too soon!

    Many thanks, Alan

    Hi Alan,

Thanks your post. Asking £2,000 ono. In water at PYC.

Will contact you direct by email.

    Mine is < ceahooper@gmail.com >.

I felt it might be too early, but have been knocked about a bit by covid etc. Amiina has performed so well this year, so lots of super memories

Bad eyes, ears, knees, etc. So want to stop while I am not a burden  ( or worry ) to others

Hoping to still give the grandchildren some sails in August, but their parents are starting to be anxious of me being single-handed.

Won’t stop me crewing for others. Any time or place!!!

    Fair winds

    Edward

Dear Edward, just a line to wish you the very best of luck with the sale of Amiina.  It must be a wrench for you, but of course I understand the thinking behind this decision.

To anyone interested: I have sailed my own boat in convoy with Amiina, and she is super-fast and manoeuvrable, and Edward has put years of knowledge, skill and love into making her tip-top.  At this price, she is an excellent buy.  Don't hesitate!

I am very tempted. Lovely wee yacht.

what is her draft?  She would have to sit in my muddy creek in the Highlands.

do you have some interior photos and an inventory

    thanks Mark

    Hi Mark,

Thanks your interest, and she is indeed a ‘lovely wee yacht’!

Happily, but also sadly - because it marks the end of my adventures with her - Amiina is now committed ( in effect ‘sold’ ), so no longer available.

She will be based in the Solent later in the autumn.

    Fair winds to all,

    Edward

Edward, thanks for letting me know.  I guess it is nice for you that she stays local.  I trust the new owner (or are we just the keeper) will take you out for the occasional sail.
