I never got around to putting a coin under the mast, I thought of it but it just didn't make it onto the list.
Thanks Annie, I am pretty pleased with the end result. There are a few changes I am already thinking about.
I'm really excited to be at the stage of setting up the rig and quite nervous about the first sail.

Just looked at the photos Gary.  What a lovely job you've done of the whole boat - not just the mast.  She is quite beautiful.  You must be very proud of yourself.

Redwing now has a mast. I have to say I judged the tolerances pretty close, even without the collar I wouldn't have needed wedges.

I've been too busy to catch up, recently.  Hope it all went well!

    Thank you Neil.
Regarding fitting my mast I'm thinking of using a hiab crane to drop it in. That way I don't have to think about rigging anything up and it should only take about 30 minutes to do.
