    I think it's pretty amazing that junk rig got a mention at such an event.  And indeed, well done, Peter.

    As for Tom, I suspect he comes under my 'motto': there are two types of sailors in this world: those who dislike junk rig and those who have sailed it.  :-D

    Thank you Richard and David for your kind words. I very much enjoyed the conference and having the opportunity of flying the JRA flag. There was definitely interest and several people spoke to me afterwards with questions. Only time will tell if we have any converts but I must confess I am not holding my breath. Nontheless it is always good to be able to talk about how the junk rig has developed in recent years.

    David, I am not aware that the speakers were being recorded.

    Well done, Peter! I'd have liked to have been there to see the expression on Tom Cunliffe's face. Way back, I showed him the model I'd made of Tystie's first sail. I don't think he was a convert to The One True Path then, but it would be interesting to hear how he views JR now. 

    Was the talk recorded in any form?

    I'd just like to say well done to Peter Manning for his excellent talk " Junk Rigs: Ancient Relics or Modern Cruising Rig" at the RYA North West (UK) Cruising Conference on Saturday.

    He had had the additional challenge of having the slot between Tom Cunliffe and lunch....
