The price for spares is now higher than I'm prepared to pay, and I've got tired of the continual maintenance that the burners require. I've taken out my 028 hob, and bought an Australian-made Maxie alcohol hob. I must say that this is a great advance over such as the Origo cookers, it's clean, and easy to light. It's slower than a Taylors in peak condition, but as good as one in poor condition, and as good as many boat's propane burners. "Metho" costs the same as "Kero" here in Australia, but I suspect that I'll be using more of it.
Anyone want to buy a Taylors 028 hob, with a stainless steel top that is a great improvement over the usual dirty cast iron top, a Taylors 030L separate oven, and the pressure tank and filters? I'm going to keep them aboard in case of need, but I don't think I could bear to go back to them. I'd rather blow myself up with propane.
Maybe you email with a Limy accent:-) Or John just does not respond to emails from NZ.

You best stock up with meths before you leave Oz as here (NZ) meth stoves are only for the seriously wealthy. Currently NZ$39.00 for 4Lt at Bunnings.

I planned to have it overhauled but, on consulting the local experts it transpired they had a reconditioned 030, which I couldn't resist.  After a thorough briefing on what to do, I installed it myself on Sunday, complete with pressure tank, filter, on-off valve and lots of pipework and to the amazement of all hands it works a treat, with no leaks anywhere.

Good to hear you had a positive experience with John. My experience was that John does not reply to emails. I was hoping to replace my propane cooker with a Taylors unit it but after sending John a few emails and never getting a single response I gave up and reconditioned my twenty year old Force 10 cooker instead (Force 10 in Canada have been a pleasure to deal with. They do respond to emails and they do it promptly). It is now working like new.

Could be John only knows how to handle phones but that does not work for me as I am totally deaf.
