About 30 days ago, I became the owner of a very nice little ship! She is the forerunner of the Islander 44.. the Wayfarer Lapworth 44. This particular vessel was built by hand by an aerospace engineer using phenolic honeycomb as the core material... you can't get much better than that!

Very excited, even as I am having the head replaced :-) She needs a lot of TLC, but her bones and engine are strong. I am going to get her up to snuff, then bring her north to my area and continue sailing her until I get the Junk Rig plan for her complete.
FYI she is 44 feet long, 11 feet wide and 22,500 lbs (13.36m/3.35m 10206 kgs) She is an early thoroughbred, designed for the Transpac, but built like a tank.
So Im fairly excited. :-) My initial thoughts are to have a schooner rig with 600/400, as that setup seems to balance out the CLR as well as position the masts in good areas.
