I am sure you are very right Annie! A regular treasure trove of information, as a newcomer, I'm wading through it and finding out more and more... And I am sure that once I have launched the boat and tried my new rig, all of the info here will make a lot more sense to me too!!.

Well, I would say that it's one of the good things about the Junk Rig Association, which is far, far more than its fora.

I now have a rig! Many thanks to Michael and Lisl who I met up with yesterday to collect it, and I wish them safe and happy cruising over the next couple of months. This is one of the great things about forums and the internet, meeting up with friendly interesting folks who you share common interests with. It was great to meet them!!

    Hello Michael,

That seems fair! I bought the boat for 100 euros, but looking at the pictures the rig looks in good condition and it will certainly be easier than my making a new one. In the future I will probably "upgrade" too. I sent you a message, did you get it? To arrange how I can pick it up from you.

    Best Regards

    Peter

    Hello Peter,

I think € 250,- inclusive delivery to Lefkas-Marina would be a fair price. I will look through my Coromandel-documents, I´m sure there is a manual about the original-rig. We are looking forward to our time in the Ionian, hoping the winter will come late. We will arrive in Lefkas approximately between the 5th and 8th of october.

    Best Greetings

    Michael

    Dear Michael,

Sounds too good to be true! How much would you want for your sail?

    Hello Peter,

two years ago we bought our "cruising boat", a Coromandel 21, with two sails in Scotland.

We have the newer one, a Sunbird rig with alloy-tubes in use. The original-rig  (Sailnumber 91) with wonderful wooden spars (pictures in the photogallery) is for sale.

And the best for you: we will go in october with our Mai Poy on the trailer for about 6 weeks to the Ionian sea. We will start in Levkas  and can take the old sail with us if you are seriously interested in it.

    Best regards from Austria

    Michael Zechany

    Hello Everyone!

My name is Peter and I live in Corfu, Greece. I recently acquired a "project" for the   winter, namely a Corribee of unspecified as yet vintage, although I suspect from various details it is a Mk II, built between 1975-1980. The rig was a Junk, obviously a conversion as there are still shroud plates on the sides and the mast goes through the hatch with a purpose made hatch cover with struts on the side. I have the mast, but that's about it. The hull needs some cosmetic and minor structural work around the rail and one stanchion foot.  I have access to sailmaking facilities locally, in fact I used to own a repair loft, but gave it to my ex-wife when we split up. I have looked at the .pdf files by Arne and found them extremely helpful. I am a semi professional rigger, so have access to machinery and various items, so it shouldn't be terribly difficult but I would aprreciate any pointers.. also if someone has maybe an old rig for sale? I might be interested.

There is a Corfu Classic Yacht Regatta held annually and I hope to make it into the next onne in my Junk rigged Corribee...

I look forward to your answers
