I came across Mudskipper in July 2010, in Brisbane Water, just north of Sydney. She'd returned from her circumnavigation by then. I was on my way up to town for supplies, when I did a double-take and a quick left-hand-down-a bit. Well, one wingsail-rigged boat isn't going to pass another without going to have a look, is she? We circled round, and Ruth and Peter popped out and did a double-take too. We anchored close by, and they came over for lunch. Next day, Fran and I went aboard Mudskipper. I can't remember too much about the meeting, except for thinking "why make things simple, when you can make them incredibly complicated?" For instance the triplane vane, the canting rudder with a complex system of tackles and a complex system of cambering the wingsails.
Still, fair play, she got around the world and back to Oz, so it all must have worked.
