Our ST2000+ tiller pilot steered us 2,500 Nm from Darwin to (almost) Broken bay (near Sydney). It died about 300 miles up the coast actually. It is rated for a 4,500kg displacement boat, Ashiki loaded is probably a good half ton over that and the poor beast suffered being hammered by quartering waves in both Coral and Tasman Seas. Both mounting points broke on the deck and tiller several times and the plastic pushrod fitting on the tiller pilot itself half sheered off before its electrics finally gave up. I sent it into Raymarine HQ in Sydney for warranty repairs. They inspected it, noted its been thrashed, and promptly sent us a brand new unit in exchange, no extra charge.
Made my day :)
