I have a printed pdf copy of the book but recently I found a copy at a community fundraiser sale that I bought for $1. Right place right time I guess.

I've been learning CNC techniques lately and I'm working on a version of OGT that can be cut on the CNC router table with snap-together corners to help with positioning and assembly. I'm also interested in David Tyler's windvane design which includes an inclined horizontal axis (the OGT is not). This is supposed to help certain steering conditions. Annie Hill has a version of it and it looks very nice.

Plans already sent by email, no time like the present. Let me know if they don't arrive.

If anyone else wants these plans I am happy to send.

I have the book and I am happy to scan the relevant pages and send them through to you in the next couple of days. It would be good if you could send me an email to remind me. Its a pity you are so far away on the other side of the world because I have a complete Belcher horizontal vane which is now surplus to requirements and will probably gather dust at the back of my shed for the next decade or so!

Would some kind JRA soul be able to furnish me with idiot-proof plans of the Belcher OGT-1 windvane design?

I'm hoping to try the Bill Belcher design that is a horizontal vane acting only on the tiller. Peter Scandling, the boat's previous owner, had started to build one and it's my mission to finish it.

I'm hoping that it will suit Mariposa. I'd like to avoid underwater protuberances if possible. If it's a failure i may have to opt for a trim tab, but to me there's something very beautiful about Mariposa's underwater profile - i just like the purity of having nothing but the hull and rudder in the water.

I've done what i hope is a thorough search of the JRA website, but if the design is here i can't find it. I have the JRA newsletter (number 51) that has a write-up and photos of Easy Go's OGT-1 and it's very informative.

I'd rather have the book, of course, but the cheapest i can find online is still 100 GBP! Ouch - I'm buying an outboard that costs less!

Member Paul Fay has some free plans on his website http://www.faymarine.com/Pauls%20Information%20Site/Wind_vane_plans.htm I'm sure he'd be helpful if you have any questions.
