Andrew, congrats with you new boat.
Converting it to JR is both easy and difficult. By far the biggest challenge is to find a place for the mast, and then install it in a safe (and not too expensive) way. Having it in a tabernacle is tempting, but when the mast reaches 50-70kg, things have to be taken seriously. Your present tabernacle for the BR will not work.
The easiest part, when the mast issue has been sorted out, is to make and rig the sail. Below you can see a copy of a sail that is in use on two junks already, a Kelt 8.50, and a Maxi 77.
If your boat’s actual interior is the same as on the plans, the mast could be made to fit without blocking access.
