Thank you all for the kind comments.  The Committee has been supportive and patient through the minor disruptions of the email migration. The Committee is keen to upgrade the member experience online.  It will take time but we'll get there.

In coming months (no schedule yet) when we are ready, the project to build the new JRA website will require volunteer labor reviewing content, as well as knowledge of junk rig topics.  We will involve many JRA members at that time.  So there will be plenty of work to go around!  More on that later.  --Rafael, JRA Webmaster

I would just like to say how incredibly fortunate the JRA is, in having Rafael as webmaster.  I hate to think how many hours he has put into just the job of sorting out new email addresses.  He was also amazingly patient and helpful when we were trying to sort out any glitches or complications (or sheer incompetence).  Rafael has also put countless hours into the website and into investigating ways and means of moving onto another one which will serve the membership better.  Other committee members have also been working hard on this.  We have some astonishingly talented and generous people on the committee at the moment.  I suspect most members have no idea how lucky we are!

    Hi Rafael,

    Thanks for your good work!

Website upgrades are daunting, mind-numbing tasks at best. Here's hoping this transition goes as smoothly as possible!

IMPORTANT EMAIL CHANGE:  As of late August 2024, JRA uses for email only the domain "junkrig.org" (without "association").

The full list of Committee email addresses (for logged-in members) is here.  Please update your records.

For a limited time, emails sent to old email addresses with @junkrigassociation.org will be forwarded to the new mailbox @junkrig.org.  Eventually this forwarding will be phased out.

NO CHANGE IN THE WEBSITE: junkrigassociation.org

    Other minor email changes

As part of the email transition, the first part of some email addresses has also been changed, so:

       honsec@junkrigassociation.org  is now:  secretary@junkrig.org

For addresses based on names, the pattern is first name and last initial, so:

       patrickl@junkrig.org for Patrick Leblanc

The full last name is used where needed to avoid confusion among similar names, so:

       lyndachidell@junkrig.org

The full list of Committee email addresses (for logged-in members) is here.  Please update your records.

    Upgrading JRA's online presence

This email change is part of JRA's broader effort to upgrade its online presence to better serve its members.  This change makes it easier for JRA to simultaneously change to a better, cheaper email hosting company.

JRA's Committee is also committed to upgrading JRA's website.  Work has begun on the new website that preserves the best of the current site and modernizes where needed. There is no timeline yet.  The Committee sees it as a top priority and will share more details in coming months.
