Hello Kevin, I've suscribed to the WaterCraft magazine ("Designing Boats, building boats, using boats") long time ago, and they have a section for the associations ("Join the club"), it's often the old gaffer association, the dinguy cruising association, the steam boat association... The JRA sure has its place between them for reports of gathering, and you can also propose an article of presentation of the junk rig .

Your committee has quietly been trying to increase the interest of yachting magazines in the Junk Rig.  Whether coincidentally or not, some have been running junk related articles on the websites - for example in relation to the 50th anniversary of the first junk rig circumnavigation by Bill King on Galway Blazer.  We had issues press releases to bring attention to this.

Practical Boat Owner magazine has given junk rigs coverage in a number of articles recently, in relation to alternative rig types, rigs with unstayed masts, and now an article dedicated to junk rigs alone:  https://www.pbo.co.uk/boats/winning-ways-with-a-junk-rig-81347

we much appreciate the coverage of our rig.

If members have particular magazines they want included in our light touch PR efforts or have useful PR contacts we could use, please do get in touch
