Who's coming to Roscoff? (16 July)

    Eric, seeing as not all members use the forum/website, could you, with the skippers' permission, list all the boats and skippers you know about so we know which boats to look out for and can try to remember whose boat is whose.

    Bonjour

    The Bloscon Roscoff harbour master is expecting us from the 14 july and leaving on the 18 july. There are many sheltered mooring in the area to stay any longer and Morlaix is up the river for a touristic visit.

    The marina fees will be half price for any Junk for that period.

    There are already 6 boats registered plus several skippers coming to the AGM by public transport.

    It's a spring tide period (97) with high tide at 0900 and 2116 (Europe continental time) on July the 16th.

    There are several nice ways to join Roscoff from the other side of the Channel. As Bloscon Roscoff is a 24hours a day access harbour with custom it is easy to land directly from UK to Roscoff. Guernsey is a nice stop in the middle. With a SWesterly it might be easier to land in continental Europe in Cherbourg (also a custom harbour) from Weimouth for example. From western UK or Ireland, leaving at fall from Plymouth or the Scilly Islands (a place to return to anyway !) leads to a landing the next day in the afternoon.

    I expect to be there in Greylag, my GK29 conversion.  Well, part conversion - I'll be using the mast from River Rat, which means that I won't be able to raise full sail.  But I'm sure she'll get me there!  I'll be coming from the Thames, so my plan is to sail downchannel on the English side, then cross from Devon or Cornwall. 

    Who else is coming?  And what's your intended route/timing?
