Funny enough I have just come across details of a Grey Seal that I tried to buy some years ago, it was built by Walter Simmons in Fowey Cornwall and he adapted the plans for junk, I think he had the designer approval for this. I would be interested if the boat is still around.

    Hello Jussi,

Whenever I have to find the answer to questions like this, I look in the directories in the Members' Area.

I see that we have one junk rigged Grey Seal in the fleet. A direct approach to the owner will probably get you the information you're looking for.

    Thank you!

    Hi!

I bought a boat (Grey seal) designed by Iain Oughtred. The boat has a new sails but I have long been interested in the junk rigging. I also found drawings of the junk rigging for the boat, but I don’t know if the drawings also provide instructions for structural changes to the boat. The site did not answer my questions (http://straydogboatworks.com/oughtred/mainpages/cruisingyachts.html ). Does anyone know Iain Oghtred’s email address, I would ask him for more information. Or does anyone here know more about junk rig and grey seal?
