I used sadolin on mine as I do on my masts and any exposed wood not painted.  It seem to last very well.  I only used it for a season and it worked well for that year.

I changed as I found that even though I have a steep angle sheeting and an odd number of battens, that direct sheeting worked just as well, because most of the time the sail is not directly in line with the centre of the boat for there is more room than the design would have suggested.

Does anyone have any recommendations for euphroe block finish?  My new ones are made of a dense oak and I was debating staining and sealing with polyurethane vs. leaving unfinished and oiling with lemon oil or something.  What is better for performance? What is better for the ropes?
