carbon masts?

    I would love to hear that carbon fiber masts are somewhere near affordable--The Freedom groups seem to have a real fear of the cost of replacing mast.  Based on that, I'm afraid that replacing one of Flutterby's masts could cost as much as we paid the whole boat!

    I am just glad that mine are intact for now, so I haven't tried to find any replacement sources.

    Has anyone considered having carbon masts built? I have been looking at carbon pole pricing, including cutom built ones, and it looks like they are getting close to competitive with aluminum. They would certainly be light and strong.
