Hi Rick,
Many thanks for that. It will be a great help. from the photo it looks like the Hi Power sail is a bit larger than the Hasler. I can measure the base of my rig so may be able to do a semi scale from your photo.
Thanks,
Peter
Hi Peter
I'll take some measurements when I'm next on Shauna.
I have both the Hasler and Hi-power sails but I've never rigged the Hi-power.
Here's a photo showing both of them, sorry the angle doesn't lend itself to even rough scaling.

many thanks for the offer. I have searched the net for the dimensions and the square footage of the Hasler sail for the Venturer but been unable to find it. any info you could send would be great thanks. That will let me look for a second-hand sail that may be adjusted to fit I think sunbird has a couple of used sails but think they are to big for the Newbridge. By adding a newer sail and rigging can only add value to the boat, (I hope !!!!).
I have a Venturer with Hasler type sail and would be happy to provide whatever measurements you need.
Sorry to hear you've had trouble selling.
Rick
Not sure what the pre-HP looked like, but an interesting article in Newsletter #29 discusses the limitations of the HP rig and suggestions for replacing it with a HM-style sail, including details and photos of one successful conversion.
Chris
Edit: these three look like original Newbridge rigs.

After a number of false sales and time wasters it looks like we may well be keeping our Venturer for another season or so. With this in mind I think we may need to replace her original sail which is now 30 plus years old !!! The rig is the original Newbridge "Hi Power" sail and if I am going to replace it I would like to put a Hassler type sail on the mast. Does any one have details of the type used by Newbridge or any info. I think the square footage is around 200 sq. ft but not sure. I know the Hassler sail used on the Corimandel was 195 sq. ft so it must be near that size.
Any info would help.
Many thanks,
