Thanks for that, Chris.  I did think of copying the link, but as I said, had lost patience.  The odd thing is that until this last photo, they system has been working for me.  I now have a better data deal than I had before, and can afford to update my Ubuntu OS on a regular basis.  I dare say it's something to do with that.  In future I'll put both piccy (when I right click and hit 'paste' it tells me to use Ctrl V, which I normally would anyway: curiouser and curiouser) and link in the posting.  It is soooo annoying the the world is convinced the we all use Microsoft (except when talking about smartphones and tablets, when apparently we all have iPhones and iPads!)

Glued in the two long bilge stringers yesterday - well the after part anyway.  There is no way I'm going to get 20 mm saligna to bend into the curve of the bow.  I intend to scarph in situ.

My three pieces of steel for the keel arrived yesterday.  They've done a fine job of cutting them out.  I shall post photos of them, probably next Sunday.

OK folks there seems to be some disparity between OS/Browser here which I confess I don't understand. It's something to do with the requirement that pasted images exist in the source as a URL. Some setups seem to maintain this during copying, and some just seem to copy the image without the source URL. What Annie has been trying to do does not work for me either - although it used to before I upgraded my OS.

Here's what does work for me, however. Right click thumbnail in your profile album and select copy. Go to your forum post (e.g. here) and right click the area you want to paste to and select paste. The thumbnail appears as below, but you can't click it to enlarge.

Go back to your profile album (it helps to have two browser windows open), right click thumbnail and select 'copy link location'. Then come back here, select the thumbnail and from the menu above, select 'link' (the chain symbol) and then 'insert link' and paste the link location into the Web Site URL box, as below:

It's a bit long-winded but works for me. I have added the URL paste bit to Annie's post below (24 Apr 2016 22:21) and the image now opens from her thumbnail.

If it's any consolation, Annie, I can't copy and paste a photo from any source either. I've tried using Chrome and Safari. I think it's something to do with both the browser used and the operating system - maybe it works in Windows but not in Linux or MacOS.

In Safari, this is what I get when I "copy image" and paste:

    0.jpeg

This is what I get when I "copy image address" and paste:

    IMG_0041.JPG

This is what I get when I "copy link" and paste:

    0

The second two act as links, the first only to a thumbnail, the second to the full image, but don't display the thumbnail photo in my posting.

In Chrome, I can't get anything useful at all. I give up, too.

Oddly, enough, Roy, both your links work to take me to your profile, but only the lower one offered the photo.  I did actually load from my directory profile, but for some reason it didn't work.  To save anyone clicking randomly on the photos in this thread, I shall try one more time.

Well, it didn't and I've lost patience.  Fortunately Arne's did, so if you want to look at the photos, click on the one in reply #3981487

Annie, try going to "My directory profile" before copying the photo.  If you go to "Member photo albums" you will be copying a private link rather than a public one.  Don't know if this will work, but seems worth a try.

     Private.

     Public.

Annie, to make the photo into an active link, just open your album and right-click on the wanted photo (without opening it first), and then select Copy from the menue. Then you just paste it in the text. Now I shall try to nick that photo from your album and use it as an active thumbnail below.

PS: Your methods for fitting plywood sheets to your hull with temporary screws and penny washers, reminds me of how aluminium panels are fitted when building aeroplanes, except that they don't (or at least didn't) glue, but replaced the screws with rivets, one by one.

Arne - that's what I did!! :-(  Try again.  Last time I did it from my directory profile, this time I'll try it from my profile.  It's all so confusing!

BTW, I had no idea that this is how they put aeroplanes together!

EDIT: and it's still not working.  Can you help me, please, Chris?

    David,
somehow that didn't surprise us :-) . I too like the bow , but I like the shape of the mid frame even more. I often think that it is the mid section that defines a boat.

Following Arne's advice (thank you!), I am now uploading the photos directly from my camera, before transferring them to my computer files.  They seem to have ended up in a sensible order this time.  If only my Image Editor would not insist on correcting them on the screen, life would be easy.  As it is, I have to remember to open any portrait photo, rotate it forward and back again and then save it, before uploading it.

Anyway, there's another dozen or so photos for those following this thread:
