Aviateur 5.70 Conversion

    Hi All

    As I was explaining in my presentation, here are some of technical questions I have about my project.

    First I plan to "convert" this boat  Aviateur 5.70 (It is not stricto sensu a conversion as the boat will be new, build by myself or by a yard). Plan is to build the boat as much as possible similar to the bermudian version for keeping the possibility to put on the regular rig and keep some resale value (JR is not that popular/known in France)

    I spoke with E.Henseval, and is not again a JR version of the boat, but of course, I will have to go through him to have it done, especially considering stability and security. But in order to reduce his work, I want to shakedown things a bit before and see if it is possible.

    Question 1:
    Shape of the hull is modern and therefore as a wide transom. Is it JR adapted ?

    QUestion 2:
    In Practical Junk Rig, it is recommended to add 10% to sail area of the bermudean version. That would lead us to 25 sqm. But hte actual rig has a square top mainsail and seems to be already quite large. Should I stick to 22sqm ?

    Question 3:
    I made some test with a 25sqm sail, trying to follow the rules in PJR. I have trouble with the sheet blocks position.
    I can't manage to have them on the boat. Should I increase panel number ?

    Question 4:
    Not JR related, but as a lot of you use windvane ... Can windvanes be used on a quite wide transom boat ?
