'Zefka’ is a Brewer 33 aluminium junk-rig schooner built in 1984 by Kingston Aluminium Yachts of Ontario, Canada. From the outset she was designed and fitted out to provide comfortable, long-term offshore cruising for a couple. Since taking ownership in October 2007 we have carried out an extensive programme of maintenance, refurbishment, and upgrading, including a complete new rig in 2013 (masts, sails and all running rigging and blocks), Simrad navionics (chart plotter, radar, AIS, tiller pilot), and deck hardware (stern gantry, hydrovane, solar panels, ‘wheel house’, ground tackle, and Jordan drogue with transom mounting points).
Since 2016 ‘Zefka’ has been laid up on the hard in the South of France (Port Napoleon, Port St Louis du Rhone). Due to other commitments we are not able to continue long-term cruising, and do not want ‘Zefka’ to languish in a boatyard. After 3 years of inactivity she will need some TLC and this is reflected in the sale price (although she has been checked over regularly, including routine engine run and re-winterising).
