This is not my boat; I heard about it via a friend and thought fellow members of  the JRA may be interested.  I have been in contact with the owner, who gave me this information:

Location: Villamoura, on pontoon berth, costs about £3.5k per year.  Boatyard nearby, cost not known.

Condition: Consider it as a project boat, but has been a liveaboard for 35 years.  Former owner has passed away.  Lots of work is needed.

Sail: one junk-rigged sail.  Also appears to have a bermudan foresail in some old photos.

Engine: probably the original MD20.  Condition unknown.

Please note that you can fly from the UK to Faro with Monarch Flights for about £90 and the boat is 30 minutes from the airport by car.

Gill tells me she doesn't know a huge amount about it other than what Chris has already put on the website. Built about 1980 and then sailed down to Vilamoura and then used for the occasional sailing trip out from there, but wasn't used for a lot of sailing. Engine believed to be Volvo, but does need looking at from what she understands.

They are going out October to clear it and someone is coming out there with them who knows a lot more about boats so a more detailed description then, but definitely a project boat for someone to do up.
