Poppy has not been getting the use or the TLC she deserves over the last couple of years due to numerous other distractions, hence the decision is to swallow the anchor and put her up for sale.

She is a Westerly Longbow built in '78, with that excellent sea kindly, go anywhere hull, and many of her sisters from the same mold have crossed oceans.

The high balance low stress Split Junk rig makes her extremely easy to sail, and if properly sailed can beat her cruising Bermudan sister on all points of sail.

    LWL 25ft,

    Beam 9ft 6”,

    Draft 4ft 6”, Fin keel,

Gosh!  It was a surprise to see that!  I hope that you're not going to completely swallow the anchor, Slieve, but can see, that like David, you might prefer something smaller and easier to look after.  I don't suppose Poppy will be on the market for long!

    Hi Annie,

I don't know how complete it may be. At the moment I am looking back to the days we had a Mirror Dinghy and 2 Toppers and our daughters were learning to sail. The grandchildren are at that stage now, where they need to be alone in a dinghy, so a couple of Toppers would be great. Who knows what the future will bring? At least you know where you are going, and it all looks good.

    Cheers,  Slieve.

    Hi Steve,

If your boat is still on the market, where could I have some pictures of it?

    Thank you!

    Hi Patrick,

    I'm afraid Poppy's long gone.

    Sorry,

    Slieve
