The time has come to sell Cove, my aluminum Colvin Gazelle. I have become old and sickly and am no longer capable of using or maintaining Cove like I should. I am looking for someone to care for Cove and pursue adventures that I am no longer able.
Cove was built by Greenwich in British Columbia, Canada in 1974 of welded aluminum with lead ballast. A pretty, welded aluminum pilot house was added about 20 years ago to the aft cabin. Cove is US Coast Guard documented and located west of Portland, Oregon, USA on the Columbia River.
The sprit was replaced with a stub to reduce overall length for convenience around the marina. A full length aluminum pipe sprit as designed by Colvin is included and can be easily switched with one bolt.
Sails are in decent usable condition, always under sail covers when not in use. I would think they should be good for years of normal use. I broke a couple wooden battens on the main sail due to inattention when sailing downwind in a canyon in strong winds. A wind change caused a jibe before I had set one of the double sheets and the battens broke against the mast stay. I have made all new wood mainsail battens but have not installed them.

There are a few things that need finished. Some interior trim needs to be completed including around the hatches in the main cabin as well as a few other pieces here and there. The drawers under the Origo stove are incomplete.
An improved ladder was installed in the pilot house but it infringes on one of the berths which will need the cushion reworked and some woodwork completed for support.
Many of the instruments do not work including the wind, depth, and knot meter. The Garmin GPS does not work and the radio transmits but does not receive. These were all damaged when one of my previous house AGM batteries had a cell fail reversing the battery polarity. The alternator ran away and before the breaker tripped, anything that was turned on at the time was damaged. I assume they are not repairable but I have not tried.
The masthead light does not light and I suspect it just needs a bulb but I have a replacement LED masthead light that can be installed instead.
