I just came across a company that has been set up to responsibly dispose of unwanted boats - which is a serious and developing problem. Apart from actually dismantling boats they act as a contact point for boats (mostly in the UK, but some in Europe too) that can be recycled/re-homed and have several very useable boats, often in good condition, that are offered FOR FREE to new owners.  Some of these boats could be an ideal basis for rig conversion, giving an opportunity to people with a restricted budget to start their junk rig adventure.
