This was very kindly sent to me as chair of JRA, in case anyone here would be interested in knowing about it.

I came across this for sale posting:https://tampa.craigslist.org/psc/boa/d/hudson-colvin-gazelle-42-steel/7842608486.html  It claims to be Thomas Colvin’s personal Gazelle in a rather sad state.  I have no relationship with the seller just thought it would be of interest to your membership.

It is in the right location, and with the name on the stern, seems genuine.  However, my research for the my Hall of Fame article recorded that Tom's boat had plywood deck and was much lighter that all steel Gazelles.  It was also engineless, though both of these things could have been changed over the years.  Quote from my article below:

Tom and Jean’s Gazelle, at 18,000lbs, was probably the lightest and fastest of them all, having neither engine nor any mechanical or electrical devices when launched. The hull was built with 3mm steel and the cabin out of plywood.

How much would this be worth if someone was interested in buying it to rebuild.

Basically, it should be a give-away project, as there is very little left and a huge amount of rebuilding necessary.  It would depend on the costs of relocating it, if you had to, or the rent you'd have to pay where it is, or if you had somewhere free or cheap to keep it while undertaking what looks like close to a total rebuild.  Maybe $1000, if you were willing to roll up your sleeves and undertake an extensive project. As a young man, I took on a project like this and it took me a decade to complete it.
