I am now without a boat so am looking for a replacement as a first time junk owner. I mostly day sail singlehanded so a Coromandel or similar would be suitable. Would prefer a boat ready to sail but willing to consider any condition Located in Essex UK but would be prepared to travel within England and Wales.

There are 2 Coros on FB both need a good bit of work. One near Notts is missing a mast and the other near Spalding is less bad but has the mast in a huge SS tabernacle.

The advertisers werent keen on providing more deals and as I havent a car I havent been able to pursue either boat as a £150 round trip on the train without a reasonable idea of what you're going to meet isnt a goer!

I have posted these boats on this forum already but I hope Ill be forgiven as its always good to see a small boat come back from the dead.

    Good Luck.

    Regard

    Martin

I am also looking for a small junk 20-25 feet, preferably bilge keeled, due to local availability of moorings. Am prepared to travel. I messaged the seller of the Coromandel in Nottingham, but received no response.

    Many thanks,

    John Booth

    Hi John,

You'll notice in one of the pictures in the FB ad' a huge chimney...Ill bet thats Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station. If you look on google maps youll see a  boat graveyard to the west.

Ill bet if you called some of the businesses there one would turn out to be the FB poster.

I defininitely wouldnt be paying much for that boat,  Ill bet theyll be glad to be shot of it!

    regards

    m.

Thanks Martin. Good piece of detective work by you! Yes, she looks in one helluva a state. I'm based in Cheshire, so Nottingham isn't far away. She's worth a look, even if only to rule her out. John

Thanks guys, I also got in touch with the Spaulding boat when it first came out but got no reply. I would rather have a boat I could sail straight away.
