    I should've said before now:

Weaverbird was sold on the 15th July to a 30 year old from Edinburgh who has crewed a lot on larger vessels, but now wants to have some single-handed adventures on his own boat. Just the kind of buyer I was hoping to attract.

She is still on her old home mooring. In the first half of August, I shall be taking her out of Ravenglass, towards Kirkcudbright or possibly around the Mull of Galloway to Loch Ryan, as the first step towards her new home at Portavadie, Loch Fyne.

Well done, the new owner has got quite a bargain.
Glad to see she is coming up to Scotland, the best cruising ground in the world!
I do hope we continue to hear tales of her travels from the new owner, is he a member?

Congratulations to both the seller and the new custodian of Weaverbird.

I shall miss reading about her adventures with David but hope her new owner is, or will become, a JRA member and share her ongoing adventures with us all.

    Hi all,

I am shortly to become Weaverbird’s new owner. It was a real pleasure meeting David last week and fascinating to see how Weaverbird is set up. She looks perfect for my plans (initially exploring the West Coast of Scotland, then hoping to get further afield) and I’m very excited to be taking her on. I’m also very grateful for David’s age-based pricing which has worked out well for me!

I’ve been a JRA member for the last couple of years but as I’ve so far lacked a JR boat this is my first post. I’m looking forward to keeping you updated on Weaverbird’s adventures in the future.

    Cheers,

    Jamie

Good heavens!  That was quick.  And she sounds to have gone to a great home.  Lucky you, Jamie, and please write up your adventures for us on the Cruisers' Forum.  You still have quite a lot of summer left!

And people say how silly we are to convert to junk rig, because they are so hard to sell ...

Well, David, it looks like we'll have to make a caomping/cruising forum next.  I'm looking forward to seeing you built this new boat.
