I posted a question relating to this, on to the Aluminium pole masthead crane fabrication thread.

What a great idea - thank you for sharing it.  I am going to copy it, although hopefully before the mast is up to make fitting it a bit easier!

A simple tiller brake

As it rained today, I spent a bit time at the keyboard producing this little write-up about a tiller brake I use on my boats.

Luckily, Slieve had a quick look at it and helped me with some details. Still, he cannot be expected to make good English of it, only precise enough.

(..there was something about a silk purse from a sow’s ear, wasn’t there?)

Designing a cone-shaped mast coat for Ingeborg.

A couple of days ago I made the pattern for the mast coat for Ingeborg. Now, every time I do this, I seem to have to re-learn how to calculate the shape of the cut-off cone sides. I have therefore made an instruction, mainly aimed for myself, to hopefully make it simpler next time.  I did it in English, in case some of you would like to use it, as well.
