David Tyler - Ooooh I'll look at that link for masts. Thank you.

I bought the C&C due in partial thanks to Arne's observations on someone else's consideration of the same make and model. That deck structure is a very nice canvas for what is to come.

    Hello Adam,

    Just some quick thoughts:

The C & C 25 looks very similar to the Sadler 25 that I fitted out with JR, wayback in the last century. At a glance, it looks as though a mast will fit nicely in the gap between the v berths and just forward of the forehatch, in a fore and aft position suitable for a high AR rig that will suit the boat. You are fortunate in having Valmont Structures quite close to you in Barrie ON, with tapered aluminum light poles in their catalogue.

    Hello!

So I just signed the Bill Of Sale on a new (to me) C & C 25 Mark I named "Thaumaturge". She's set up as a Bermuda sloop and while she's rigged for single handed fun, I very much intend to Junk her when the current rigging fails or the sails give out.

I've seen a few posts on here of people contemplating the C & C but no examples of the conversion. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)

I plan to document the project although I haven't decided the best channel for that.

In the meantime I thought I'd post some pictures and solicit advice as to the best approach for converting this rather fabulous little boat. If you've converted a C & C 25 or something similar I'd love to hear from you - especial thoughts on mast material and location.

Before I forget: I sail out of Toronto Harbour on Lake Ontario.

    Looking forward to this adventure!
